Claimant says: "I had a pipe break in the wall between the garage and the kitchen on 12-30-2010. I had a plumber come out to fix the broken pipe and called Restoration Experts to deal with the water that had flooded into my home. They came out and started vacuuming up the water and brought in these large dehumidifiers and air movers to dry out the house. They had the house checked for mold by a company that dealt with mold. Restoration Experts cut the dry wall 4 foot up all the way around the areas that got wet and pulled all the baseboards off. The mold report came back and they said that I did have some mold and they brought these large machines back out that generated heat in excess to 100 degree in the house. So my kitchen cabinets that I just had put in the year before got ruined by the heat from their machines. It pealed all the thermafoil back on all of the doors and the crown molding. They wouldn't use my cabinet guy that I suggested and brought in a guy that didn't do a very good job on them overall. He tried to fix the crown molding and that didn't work so he had to replace it but couldn't give me the larger crown molding that I had. I had to have him come back several times for different things that weren't right. The crown molding still don't match up where he pieced it together. Restoration Experts still to this day haven't sent anyone out to inspect the kitchen or have me sign off on it and it's been over 6 months. The guy putting the dry wall up drove a screw through my central air conditioning wire and knocked out my AC and then continuted to close up the wall. I told him I think you cut the wire or something and he said that he didn't. We got the supervisor out and they opened the wall and sure enough there was a dry wall screw in the wire. They had to get an air conditioning guy out to replace the wire. They also knocked my ceiling fan off of the ceiling, and this is a vaulted ceiling in the den, and broke it. They told me to buy a new one and they would pay me for it. I did and gave them the receipt and have asked them several times since, it's March 31st today, and still have not been reimbursed. When they closed off my living room with plastic, where my new microfiber couches were, they just loaded stuff, like the vacuum cleaner on top of them without even covering them up. They boxed up the knick knacks from the kitchen and put them in the garage. When they were done we picked up the box and everything fell out of it because they didn't put any tape or anything on the box. So needless to say we had some broken ceramic things that were in the kitchen. In July they finally put down the laminate wood flooring in the living room. It looked good, it was cheaper material than the Pergo that I had in there before, they said the Pergo was to expensive. They left but painting was going on so they left the couches in the middle of the floor and put cardboard under them. The flooring guys were the only ones that moved the couches and the one was a sleeper and was especially heavy. My wife and I put the large coasters that have carpet like material on the bottom and are made for moving furniture around. We went to push the couch back to the wall and saw (the opposite way that we pushed the couch) several long wide scuffs on the floor. They had to have pulled the couches along the wood floor and scratched it. I called the supervisor (Dave) and he looked at it and said it's not a big deal, they would take care of it. He called me and asked me to try a couple different things to see if it would come up. Nothing would work. I called him several times and he said they haven't decided what they were going to do yet. I'm looking at a final punchout sheet that Dave gave me date August 4, 2011 that says, Install ceiling fan and refund $219.00 and Wood floor Scuffs when moving furniture. Months go by, still nothing, called and left messages. Also on December 30, 2010 they said I had to give them the money for my deductable in advance, so I had to give it to them from my credit card. Then when the first check was sent from the insurance company, the insurance company also took my deductable out of the check. When I asked them about it they said that is the way they do things. That I'm not really paying my decuctable twice. So, back to the flooring, I spoke to the Vice President of Restoration Experts Crystal Liming January 11, 2012 and she told me that she informed Dave of the flooring issue and has written a warranty request to address the scratched floor. Dave will call me next week to set up an appointment. Dave called me up and asked me how many spare boards I have left and I told him only a few and he said ok that won't be enought they will have to order some. Several days later I get a call from Dave telling me that they have discontinued that flooring. That's it. I have e mailed Crystal Lyming back a couple of times and she has not bothered to get back with me in an e mail or a phone call.Back before they damaged my cabinets their estimator (Jerry) told my wife and I that we should be getting back about 10,000 dollars, then after they damaged the cabinets he told us we should be getting back about 6000.00 dollars, then when I talked to Crystal she said that I wouldn't be getting any money back. There were things on the work order that they said they did but didn't do. I just want to be done with these people. It's been 15 months now since they began and tha'ts just unacceptable.*” ...Show less »
