Claimant says: "I was approached by the manager , who told me that someone had said that I was under the influence at work...in the same breath he said that he personally had never witnessed this.
I was sent home, and told to return the following morning at 9 am for a urine screen. I was 100% compliant. Next morning, manager calls 30 minutes prior to my scheduled return time, to tell me that he has not yet received any paperwork for me to complete the urine screen, and tells me to stand by...for two days I was waiting for this paperwork. Unable to make plans of my own for fear that they would call, and I would not be available and consequently lose my job. Finally the third day, paperwork was received and I completed the urine screen.
Results took over a month to come back due to lost or mismatched paperwork on their end.
Urine screen came back negative (clean)...
i was never compensated for any lost time, wages or embarrasment.
Now they are trying to make me quit...they schedule me for a maximum of 11 hours a week. They try and call me in at least 3 times a week for unscheduled work days.
They were advised upon hiring me that I am a single mother and must pre- arrange childcare. They get upset when I can't come in, for unscheduled days, on a 30 minute notice. This last few weeks they are scheduling me for 8 hours. And again try to call me in on short notice, multiple times through out the week.
I feel I am being discriminated against on several counts...
1. Because I am a single mother.
2. Because I am of hiscpanic descent.
3. Because I have visible tattoos.
All of which was fully disclosed upon hiring me.
I feel i should be compensated for my lost time, wages...
and embarrasment... Defamation of character.
I asked the manager about compensation for lost time and wages, his response was that he would contact company headquarters and find out...nothing further was ever said.*” ...Show less »
