However, after fumbling around to find a way to open the control panel, he diagnosed the mother board as bad, providing no relay contact. I paid him the $45 service charge he requested. Later, before trashing the range, I decided to check it out myself. I reset the clock, and presto, everything works fine. All features depend on the clock being set.
