We were replacing a totaled 4wd SUV from an accident that same summer, we specifically told the Salesman we needed 4wd due to our extreme winter conditions here. He Sold us this vehicle and it handled so poorly in the Snow that first winter we had to purchase 4 Studded (new) tires and rims ($880.00) just to get me to work and home and it still operated poorly! Than on the first snowfall of the following year it literally slid off the highway on my way to work! We were not advised by any of the different faciliites (Les Schwaab, Wendle Ford/Mercury) who worked on our rig that it was in fact only 2WD REAR ONLY!! We realized this (per our oil change Company) just last week........ Employee of Oil Can Henrys, showed me the true rear wheel (only) axles on our SUV, when he was servicing the rig.
We than realized why it had operated so poorly in the past winters, we checked out our original paperwork and
We are now in a challenging Credit situation since purchasing this rig and cannot qualify for a new 4WD, CAL (dealer) is trying to make us refinance another rig!
They totally scammed and deceived us in 2008! We would have NEVER PURCHASED this vehicle if it was known to only be 2WD!*” ...Show less »
