Claimant says: "For the last four months I have had a problem with mold and mildew in my living room, and bedroom closets causing my shoes and clothes to have a smell of mildew. It was in the window sills in every room and the door leading to the patio. I have emailed the leasing office and the second time the maintenance man came and put clorox on the walls in the closets and cleaned the window sills. The third time the mold and mildew appeared I was told to take my belongings out of the closets and someone would come and look at it well I don't know what was put on the walls that time but less than a months time the mildew and mold was back. I noticed the items in the bedroom closet started to smell of mildew when I would open the closet door, and I emailed the office of the problem. After no one responded I immediately went to the leasing office and notified the personnel of the problem being back I was told a private contractor would have to come and asset the problem. I was told I would be notified when the private contractor would be out to my apt to fix the problem inside and outside, well I had to call the leasing office after one weeks time to find out what was going on. Being told someone would email the contractor to see if he had been out and if the problem was fixed ? I asked why the contractor didn't fix the problem in the apt? Communication on the part of the leasing office has been non-existant. I've tried but I feel as if no one is communicating with me and I feel enough time has passed in order to get this problem fixed. I'm being told to call my insurance company concerning my belongings, that makes me upset that no more concern is being made toward my family as tenants? I was called 5/4/12 Friday for the leasing office to say someone would be at my apt to get the mold and mildew out of the closets and window sills soon as they finished repairing something in another apt, well I have an illness and today isn't good for me with such short notice. Give me enough notice where if I can't sit up as long as it has taken in the past for this problem I can go to a relative's house. It was a priority until I asked for corporate's email address and was not given it. I was not given a copy of my lease until I requested it to see the section on Mold. I've done everything I needed to on my end and the leasing office has done nothing. This is my first renewal of my lease and the last one!*” ...Show less »
