Claimant says: "We booked a cruise with Viking River Cruise Line last May and instead of using their company for travel insurance we decided to go with insuremytrip.com. Since we owned our own insurance agency in the past we wanted a primary carrier that covered all existing medical conditions. Unfortunately about two weeks before the cruise, my wife became very ill so at that time we thought it best to cancel the cruise. The name of the insurance carrier insuring us was Assure Assist insurance company (representing Co-ordinated Benefit Plans, LLC). They sent us forms to fill out which we did and a form for the doctor whose treating my wife to fill out showing her medical problem. It should be noted that we had to make an emergency trip to The Cleveland Clinic in Boca Rotan, FL because of her medical emergency issue which is why we had to cancel the trip; she could not walk. All of the forms were filled out properly and mailed and faxed to Insure Assist Insurance Company,(representing Co-Ordinated Benefits, LLC). They sent us additional forms to fill out to access my wife's medical records. We called Insure Assist advising them that we had copies of those previous and current visits so we faxed them to the carrier which they received. Obviously it's not enough, so they in turn have contacted the medical records department at Cleveland Clinic requesting the same records. It is now going on 3 months and we have not received any refund. It appears that this is a stall tactic and/or they are trying to find a way to deny the claim. This particular type of claim should not take anymore than 2-3 weeks before a refund check is issued. We are still waiting. Advice to the wise; if you want insurance to cover your trip, go directly through your travel company not through an outside source.*” ...Show less »
