About Trina Nycol

With over two decades of legal experience, Trina Nycol Brown marries practical experience and academic orientation. As a subject-matter expert in employment law, civil litigation and family law, Trina provides professorial instruction to students within an American Bar Association approved paralegal program at Brightwood College. She also serves on Vista College’s Program Advisory Council where she partners with others in paralegal education to develop a comprehensive online paralegal curriculum. As a civil litigation and civil trial law expert, Trina has an affinity for both due process and alternatives to due process. To that end, she uses her expertise in both jury and trial consulting as well as alternative dispute resolution (ADR”). Through Trina’s ADR efforts she mediates cases for both Dallas and Tarrant County Courthouses, and is the Founder of Mediators of Tarrant County. A Philadelphia native, Trina holds chair positions and board appointments both in Texas and Pennsylvania. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Organizational Leadership with at Abilene Christian University. Trina holds a master’s degree from The George Washington University in Paralegal Studies; and a bachelor's degree from Immaculata University in Organizational Dynamics. Trina is an American Alliance Certified Paralegal (AACP®), Pennsylvania Certified Paralegal (Pa.C.P.), and a Certified Change Agent. She was awarded membership into the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas for outstanding pro bono service as well as the Texas Bar College, an honor society chartered by the Supreme Court of Texas. Trina has written and contributed to numerous publications, has lead workshops, and conducted speaking engagements on the paralegal profession.
