David is a mediator and coach who completed his education and qualified with a Law degree (LL.b Hons). He is a proficient English speaker who completed English Language studies at the British Council (Proficiency Certificate).
Following a successful 20 year long career as a manager in the private sector, David became a public auditor for Portugal´s SAI auditing Government departments and other public entities, including public owned companies, lately he has been auditing the major public owned companies privatization processes.
In 2001, David was among the first mediators trained by the Ministry of Justice in Portugal to be part of the Mediation scheme, of a new set of Tribunals (Julgados de Paz)
In 2002 David founded the Portuguese Mediators’ Association AMC, a non for profit to spread the knowledge of Mediation as an effective alternative for dispute resolution.
As the elected Chair of the Steering Committee for 8 years, he was part of the committee that drafted the first Code of Ethics for Mediators in 2002.
As a Certified Trainer David has been training mediators for both private and public practice since 2002.
In 2007 David was appointed as a Municipal Ombudsman, but he never acted as one, because the City Council dropped the project following 2008’s financial crash.
David moved to the UK in 2014, where he joined a London based Mediation company as a Consultant.
In Oxfordshire, he founded a consultancy company for English and Portuguese speaking clients.
Since 2016 David has been mediating at the Julgados de Paz, and founded Peaceful Resolution Consulting Portugal to provide the same services PRC UK does in the UK.
David is a co-host on several web shows and webinars in Portuguese and English and provides cross-border on-line mediation services.
David was elected Chair of the Internal Audit Committee of the Federation of Mediation Professionals’ Associations.
David is currently working as an Associate for Albert Square Mediation in London.
