My mother was a patient last May. She was diagnosed by her cardiologist with having a 30% ejection fracture. So she kept having trouble breathing. They did nothing for her there, she wasn't on the cardiology floor. They would not let me stay with her, although they were not taking care of her basic needs. Help to the bathroom, eating, standing. Had the nerve to confront my mother for telling me they were not answering her call button. She was also threatened by a roommate to get punched in the mouth. An interim doctor got an echo the day before memorial day and never gave us the results, which were 15%!!! We took her home and she passed that week. Don't go there!

My husband's Pulmonologist requested that he go to Buffalo General ER, because she suspected he could have a Pulmonary Embolism. She wanted him to have a VQ scan. Well the drs there told us that it doesn't matter what your dr wants, we will do what we think you need. Okay, we understand that. While in the ER my husband asked if they would check his sugars (he is a Type 1 diabetic), so that he could properly dose his insulin. It took us asking 10 times before they tested him, which resulted in him going into DKA, which they never addressed!!. After 20 hours of waiting in ER, they finally do the VQ scan. No Pulmonary Embolism, which is great. However they admit him and place him in a room with a Covid positive patient!! My husband is a Diabetic, has Sarcoidosis of the lungs, is immune compromised from medications to treat Sarcoidosis and was sent to ER because he has retained so much fluid that his lungs and heart have fluid all around them which is causing chest pain and why his Dr thought he could have a PE. I get that lots of places are getting relaxed about Covid, but you never put a patient with the conditions my husband has with another patient who has something contagious, let alone covid positive! On top of all this my husband is in congestive heart failure due to the excessive water retention and they would not give him a water pill to reduce the water or even tell us that he should not be consuming liquids! They never even explained tovus that he was in CHF, we found out from our Pulmonologist after my husband walked out of the hospital. Buffalo General is the worst!!! Very incompetent staff and Drs!! When we said we wanted to file a complaint, they had us do it with the charge nurse of that floor, kinda bias, considering it is the floor she runs. She gave us every possible excuse!! She will do nothing to address the problems! So we will be filing a complaint with Erie County Health as well. If you value your life, do not go to Buffalo General!!!
