    In this situation, you stated that he has ignored your messages and calls. Perhaps a certified letter can help you regain contact. That way, you can know whether or not he received the letter. Let him know that you have been trying to reach him, and that you would like the loan to be repaid. Perhaps suggesting some payment terms, such as a monthly payment plan, can help you reach an agreement that you both can be happy with. If he does not respond to the certified letter or does not receive it, you could retain an attorney and see if he responds to communications from an attorney.
