"Direct TV is trying to charge me $320.00 cancellation fee. I signed no contract to such an aggreement. I was told my payment would go up in two years, thats it. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. I feel this company loves duping senior citizens. They have dishonest employees and they charge crazy fees. I would appreciate any help you might be able to give me

  • Thank you for contacting us through PeopleClaim. I am very sorry for any misunderstanding regarding the terms of our services. Our Equipment does have a 24 monthly programming agreement requirement when signing up with us. This is included in the terms of our offers, on the confirmation letter of there order, on our first billing statement to you, and in the Customer Agreement (www.directv.com/legal). To provide the equipment at the best rate and keep our monthly service cost low, we do have a Programming Agreement connected to the leased equipment we provide. I have also resent you a copy of the confirmation letter that included this information.

    The Early Cancellation Fee does help offset the cost of the equipment discounts we provided to you if you decide not to stay with us because we want to be fair to all of our customers. This way we do not have to adjust our monthly rate for loss of investment with our equipment installations. This also helps us to be able to continue to provide the great discounted offers like the one you received for this equipment by simply asking you to stay with us for 24 months. The fee is $20 per month left on the the agreement billed at once and is a valid charge.
