Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I ordered direct tv and had it for 3-4 months. I had problems and called in. I got no where with the person I talked to. When I cancelled they then wanted to help me. If you can't help me when I call in and get no where---I don't need you. I paid my fee for early cancellation. Now today I find you have charged me $10.52! I will call my bank and have that put back in my account- I cancelled and PAID my final balance. You had no right to withdraw any money out after that. I have all my paper work showing WHEN I cancelled. I let my anger out on google and twitter about your company and it seems I'm not the only not happy with your service."

  • Thank you for contacting us on PeopleClaim. I do need to mention that PeopleClaim is not directly connected to our customer service. As such, I do not have access to your account information. The amount you mentioned sounds like an unpaid pay per view that was downloaded to your account after the leased equipment was returned.

    There is not a "Time-out" period for any past DIRECTV Cinema orders that were processed with the remote on the receiver. The charges would remain on the equipment until it is able to make a successful connection with our system again. This can by phone line from a customer’s home, or at the warehouse when returned equipment is processed. Simply not having a phone line connected did not automatically disable the ordering options as the receiver is set up to process orders even if the phone line is not currently available (as in if the line was currently being used for a phone call, etc.). The unit then stores the information until it is able to connect to our systems (as mentioned above).

    For your convenience, if we have a credit or debit card on file, we will automatically charge your card for any outstanding balances, Early Cancellation Fees, previously unbilled DIRECTV CINEMA or Pay Per Views, and equipment Non-Return Fees (if applicable). We reserve the right to apply additional charges for a minimum of three months after you receive the billing statement reflecting account disconnect.
