About the PeopleClaim ratings
PeopleClaim uses an A+-to-F rating system determined by a business's responsiveness
to claims filed against it and percentage of claims resolved. The ratings are based
exclusively on claims filed through our online system.
How is the rating calculated?
PeopleClaim Ratings are generated via an objective mathematical algorithm that encourages
respondents to settle valid complaints, while giving them flexibility to challenge
and reject claims they feel are unreasonable. Respondents are given a grace period
of 20 days before new claims begin to impact their rating.
High letter grades are given to businesses and other entities that respond quickly
to complaints and resolve a high percentage of them. Lack of a timely response and
leaving claims unresolved result in a low letter rating. Respondents always have
the option to respond to claimants and share their side of the story.
Respondents who have had no claims filed against them are given a preliminary rating
with a note telling how long they have been rated.
How can I use this rating?
PeopleClaim Ratings provide an objective look at how a respondent deals with complaints.
You can use this information to:
- Make informed purchasing decisions.
- Choose service providers.
- Decide which professionals you'd like to work with.
- Compare and research businesses and professionals.
Important: The ratings should be used in conjunction with other sources before making
decisions about a provider. For example, by referring to posted PeopleClaims you
get full details from both sides of disputes. And because the system lets claimants
allow direct contact from viewers of posted claims, another layer of relevant information
is available: viewers can share information about the party in question, discuss
their own experiences, and make suggestions for resolving the dispute. Taken together
this valuable claim-based information - both statistical and anecdotal--helps give
a deeper understanding of the businesses, professionals, and other providers you
may be considering.
