Claimant says:
"I received a call from SSI to ask for my opinions, as a registered voter, on 'issues affecting my state.' The young lady I spoke to declined to state whether she was representing a particular political party or PAC. She insisted that because she was not selling anything, she was not required to abide by the FTC's "Do Not Call" rules.

From what I see on the web, SSI is a very much for-profit company that provides "Data Solutions and Technology for Market Researchers." It is a private company valued at around half a billion dollars or more. Its principle business is selling information. No, they're not selling anything TO me - they're selling ME.

Survey Sampling International LLC is contacting me for a business reason. SSI is collecting information from me that the company will then sell.

I bitterly resent paying for a phone line that I'm afraid to answer because the caller is usually a scammer of some variety, or yet another person profiting from me in some way and giving nothing whatsoever -- to me or to society -- in return.

All any voter is going to get out of Survey Sampling International LLC's intrusion into their life is another politician trying to figure out how best to lie to them."
