Claimant says:
"I had a leak from an interior water line, June 2017, the nationwide adjuster suggested this company. i explained to him that this was my 1st ever claim and i had zero knowledge about the process, the claims ajuster assured me he had worked with them before, and i did not have to worry. i was asked to arrange for entry into my home the following day. i met the rep for the company and opened the door and they evaluated the damage and said they could handle it. i contacted a plumbing co. to repair the leaking pipe, the following days special touch crew came in pulled up the carpet in the front room, removed all of the furniture and pulled up 65% of the hardwood floor in the dining room. we talked about how they would proceed. i explained to them since they had to replace the hardwood flooring in the ding room i preferred hardwood in both rooms. after some time the floors had dried enough to start work on the floors that is when they realized the original hard wood flooring was glued down and would take longer to remove the glue, then i was told my adjuster was aware of the cost to remove the subfloor, and would okay it. after nearly 2 weeks i was never presented with a cost estimate for any of the work. When the work was finished the money was paid to special touch by the nationwide adjuster ...special touch hired sub contractors to complete the work. the kitchen floor & painting was less than perfect, the sub contractor that replaced the hard wood was great, the tile in the kitchen has glue stains and is lumpy, the doors on the laundry closet were left off, and the transition strips between the rooms are not flush to the flooring. 2 months later i get the bill and a notice of lien on my home from special touch, for a fee i never was shown , or approved. now special touch has a lien on my home, buyer beware they do not do the work themselves and do not provide a cost estimate upfront. arthur williamson madison, tn,"

  • Mr. Williamson has completed a certificate of satisfaction for the repairs, received and cashed all insurance proceeds for the repairs, signed a change order for revisions to the repairs and failed to remit the outstanding balance for the repairs. All further correspondence will occur in a court of law.
