Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Victim of security system scam. On or about November 8, 2015 I was approached by Christopher Rannacher saying that my contract with my current had expired and I was paying a company for no service. He knew so much about my business, so I accepted what he said. Not clearly thinking I didn't question why I still owed the other company if my contract had expired. Any way Christopher told me when I got the pay-off amount from my current company to CALL HIM and give Him the amount and He would give me a check for that amount. When I got the info from current company, I called him at least 4 times with no response. I then called my original company and had them come back and restore the previous service. I also wrote to Skyline and told them I was (and did) stop payment on the bank payment. This company continues to harass me for monies and threatens to ruin my credit rating..

Is this a fair resolution?

  • I'm having a little trouble following this fully, but I think I get the gist.

    1. You paid the new company who told you your contract with the old provider had expired- correct?  Was it true that it had expired or were they making that up?
    2. You send a check to the new company to start a new service with them- correct?  Then you cancelled payment and now they are trying to get payment for the new service from you.  Is that correct?
    3. Do you have a contract for the new service?  does it have a cancellation clause?  Do you know if your state provides a mandatory cancellation period on contracts of this type?

If you can provide some clarification, I'll respond with a suggested resolution.

Sorry you're having issues>  I agree it sounds like a scam, but lets understand the full details first.
