Claimant says:
"On April 13, 2017 I went to Rockdale Speedy Lube located at 1205 W. Cameron Ave, Rockdale, TX 76567 for an oil change.
I was informed I needed a brake lubrication or else I would lose my brakes and have an accident.  I told him there was nothing I noticed to be wrong but if they needed work, I agreed.
Since then I have contacted husband, 2 mechanic shops and all three said I was "taken".  I will add my husband was not happy about the $89.99 charge.  I wrote a letter and have called and they will not refund me my funds.
Since I believe I was told a 'lie" and did not need this according to three different people especailly my husband since he also drives my car, I want funds returned and they refuse."

  • Wow! I will admit that I don't know much about cars (that's what a reliable mechanic is for) but in all my years I've NEVER, ever, been told that I need to lube my brakes. New pads and/or rotors, yes. Brake fluid, yes. A $90 lube job for brakes? Never! 

    What kind of car do you have? Have you asked the local dealer if they've ever heard of such a thing?

    I would suggest that you ask the mechanics you've already talked to to comment on this claim. Also, I'm looking at mediator profiles going by me on this page. Some of them are mechanics and know about cars. I'd add what make and model of car you have to your claim and then invite them to look at your claim and ask them if this is a real thing.

    If Rockdale Speedy Lube treats women as easy prey for unnecessary jobs, then the sooner they're called out on it, the better. If there IS a good rationale for this service then I will happily stand corrected,
