Claimant says:
"I have had Richard (Rick) Porterfield do numbrous jobs around my home. I met him and his worker Terry in Oct of 2016. They scraped and painted the front part of my home. I was very pleased with the work.  During the time they were here Rick mentioned they do all sorts of home improvent work, yard work, etc. I said give me a few days and I will make a list of things an have you come back.  I had them come back three days later they did plumbing work, yard work, cleaned the gutters.  I was very satisfied.  I asked about putting Christmas lights up they said they did so they came back in November when I called them did a beautiful job with the lights.  I started reccomending them to people as a matter of fact I gave them thirteen people and everyone was just so pleased with whatever odd jobs they had them do. 
Fastword to Nov. 2017 I recommended Rick to a close friend. this is the fourtenth person I recommended him to. He went to her home gave her an estimate to paint several rooms in her home.  He needed to purchase the paint so she gave him cash in the amount of $185.00 he called her about an hour later said he was at home depot and they had to order the paint. he told her it would be in the next day and she was fine with that because they had agreed that he start the work Nov 27, 2017.  He did not show that day, she called him left messagges I called left messages he never returned the calls. someone was retriving the calls because I left so many messages one day the voice mail was giving the message "This mail box is full" I called back an hour later and the voicemail was taking messages. 
This went on for weeks, in the mean time I had contacted all the others I had recommended him to and none of them had heard from him.  To date we have not heard from him.  The phone number 816 349-4600 is no longer in service.

"This should be reported to the police. It appears to be straight theft. You cannot take cash in exchange for goods or services and then not provide said goods or services; that is theft/fraud."
