Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On April 29th I tried to order a Lauren Ralph Lauren Handbag, Bexley Heath Classic Tote Web ID: 749924 on Macy's.com using the FRIENDS discount code. The code was for 25% off with free shipping which would bring the cost of the item down to $224. I entered my credit card and the code and the item rang up at the adjusted price, but when I tried to hit submit the page just refreshed and blanked out all of my purchasing information. I tried again and it did the same thing and I could not complete my order. I even tried it on a different computer, but same problem.

I then emailed customer support (order number KMM71757721I15977L0KM) and Lyka Marie Benedictos responded and said that I just needed to call in by phone- for credit card security- and they would re-submitt my order at the adjusted price.

But when I called back in the woman on the phone told me that they could not give it to me for the adjusted price because the sale had ended. I explained that I knew the sale had ended, but since there was a problem with the Macy's website I had been promised the same price out of the sale dates. She once again said she was unable to complete my request, even when i gave her the name and context of my previous email from customer support. I asked to speak to her supervisor, who she said was not available. I informed her that I would be filing a complaint. She said there was nothing she could do and ended the call.

I then emailed customer service one more time expressing my frustration and Danmenlyn Lapay responded and said that there was only a 14 day adjustment period. However, this is totally irrelevant since I was never even able to purchase the bag at full price."

  • I managed to order the bag during another sale, but even then I had the same error on the site. I had to call in to place the order which took considerable time. I have now got the bag, but I would still like for Macy's to look at fixing the glitch on the site so that other people will not have to go through the same trouble and I would like them to recognize my problem. I have yet to receive any sort of recognition from them that the error was their fault.
