Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"As a spokesperson for Boy Scout Troop 11, Ottumwa IA, in good faith with your promise to repay the amount we paid on your behalf to go with our Troop 11 scouts to Seabase in Florida, August 14-20/2013, I am filing this claim. You and I personally had a Eagle Scouts Handshake, a verbal promise and a written promise from you that you would pay this debt. We spoke face to face in the FUMC parking lot, after you chose to sneak out of the meeting. knowing you were supposed to give me a payment then, but instead I got story of you just moving and you had no money. You knew about your debt before you moved, and chose to do it anyway. I had a verbal promise of a payment very soon, but should have acknowledged what you were smoking then, and realized it was a lie. We spoke on the phone a couple times, you acknowledged your debt to me and that you would pay. You wrote to me in an e mail that the Scout Laws were important to you and you valued being Trustworthy. So far all of that is untrue and you have not paid anything. . The amount owed is $1127.50, which is money that belongs to the boys in this troop that you used, took the trip, enjoyed a vacation in Florida and then did not pay your debt. We have contacted you many times and you have yet to begin a payment plan. It is now time. We expect payment in full, and are willing to discuss some payment terms , but you need to address this matter immediately."
