Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"-I needed to get faster internet service rather than the dial up I had because i needed to take a class on line. After checking with avaliable carries in my area Hughes Net was the only company that serviced at my address. The whole process was a mess from the get go. They told me They would be at my residence on 7-20-11 which they canceled because thei tech's truck was broken down,then they said they would be here on 7-24-11 ,however that was canceled because they didn't have the equipement to install. I was planning on going out of town the following week for vacation,however since I needed this installed for my class I canceled my vacation and they came 7-26-11. I have a recently built home and did noot want the satellite dish on my roof ,the tech stated that Hughes Net did not allow them to install the dish on a pole unless it was a metal roof, which my is not. Therfore it was installed on my roof. After a few days of starring at that eye sore I decided to call Hughes Net to ask them about their installation policy and they informed me that THEY DO Install on poles regardless of the roofing material. They informed me that they would relocate the dish for me if I paid a $200.00 relocation fee,even though thats what I had originally requested just a few days ago at the day of installation.The Rep that I spoke to ,stated I signed a form giving my approval to install the dish on my roof rather than a pole. Idid not sign anything that day nor did they give me a copy an agreement ,when I asked them to mail or fax me a copy of the signed agreement thay refused ,stating I had to contact the installer. I didn't hire the installer ,they sub contract these installers , I initiated buisness with Hughes Net not their contractors. After i had been lied to so many times I decided to canel my order. They stated they would send me a pre addressed box with postage paid within 15 days,after 15 days of no box I called them and they stated they would not send me a pre-paid box because of the type of modem installed,I had no choice in modem. I feel I have been lied to since the beginning of this intallation process,the company wants to blame the installers they contract with and the installers want to balme Hughes Net.I have to climb up on my roof and remove the dish . After several hundred dollars and countless days of aggravation lies and unecessary holes in my roof I feel I wasted my time with this company and don't wish this upon others."

  • I have had HughesNet for many years, mainly due to the fact that theirs is the only company that offers service in my area. The second that another company offers service in my area, I am GONE from HughesNet. The claimant is correct.....HughesNet are nothing but crooks
