Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Bank of America (BoA) is no longer the BoA I joined 40+ years age. BoA is very corrupted now.

They are terrible, very slow, lack of communication, and has no responsibility.

My checking account was shut down in a sudden with a very slow notification (with USPS!).

It hurt me badly:

1) The notification didn’t come in until 8 days later. The check (my mortgage money) comes in during this time was bounced back. At this time, it may be lost with no trace, and my mortgage is late now! I believe there is a penalty & credit damage.

2) BoA should quickly (using tel, text & email) tell me this shut down, instead of 8 days USPS! For a 40+ years customer, not even one person (from BoA) notified me! Rude. When I found out, and asked BoA. BoA won’t tell me the reason of shutting down my checking.

3) When I was trying to recover the account, BoA actually didn’t care. They just said, it’s a biz decision. End of discussion! My phone call was automatically forwarded to the Closure Dept, and the wait time is about 20 to 30 minutes!

4) BoA should take care of the closed account for 2 more weeks (since the notification is so slow). Someone should be responsible for the check/ money return to sender (who? when? & address?). So I can track where the money went. This is to prevent the loss of some important check during the transaction (in & out).

5) I had 4 or 5 requests to BoA (on July) to dispute with/for me against companies took $ from my account. BoA wanted to separate the responsibilities. BoA just shut my 40-years account! Now I lost all these info & claims. BoA owe me an apology, and should have a person to go through files with me.

6) BoA should pay me $10,000 to settle this issue.

BoA is no longer the BoA 40+ years ago. It is terrible now.

Message from Claimant: In the past 18 months, BoA has been ignoring me. It’s not acceptable. BoA is getting worse, in terms of customer support, and many other things, compared to 48 years ago, when I first joined BoA.
My previous penalty, charged to BoA, needs to adjust to $12000, which include interest and penalty.

Sincerely Yours,
David Lee, 2020-8-3
1. Penalty to BoA increased to: Aug 05, 2020 $12,000.00

Bank of America should have given you at least 30 days notice by phone, email, and certified mail that they planned to close your account. It needs to revise its policies, apologize, and consider paying damages More...

The reason I charged BoA $10,000.00 in this case: • BoA is not responsible for the money we put into the account. • BoA just terminate my 40 years account in 5 minutes, without warning. • I have about 20 bill pays monthly. Many of these cannot delay payment. They can cause lawsuits. They can terminate my life insurance. They can damage the Credit Report. • These things can happen to anybody. BoA is no longer the good BoA 40 or 30 years ago BoA. • Boa should apologize to us and tell us how to prevent these things from happening again next time. • BoA should contact me to resolve this case. So far they didn’t. David L, 2019-1-9 seeDavid101@gmail.com
