In Paris the flight was delayed for several hours and then finally canceled due to mechanical issues. We were put on another flight leaving the next day at 10:25 am. Because of this cancellation and the resulting almost 24 hour delay in arriving to my final destination, I am aware that I am entitled to 600??? in compensation, per my rights as a United customer departing the European Union. When writing United regarding compensation procedures, they said that Flight 915 was delayed due to a mechanical issue, and "As this was notsomething that could be anticipated or prevented, it is considered anextraordinary circumstance and therefore, excluded." EU Regulation 261/2004, which they cited, is not to be interpreted to include mechanical failings as extraordinary circumstances based on past lawsuits and statements. They want to unlawfully deny me the 600??? compensation. I have not heard back from their legal department yet, and Customer Care said they would follow up but have not, 1.5 months later. * ...less

United took no interest in that . I was so cold on the whole flight that I asked for a blanket and received this answer. "We don't carry blankets". The stewardess admitted that she knew anyone who sat in the front two seats would be frozen, just like she was. She informed me that at times she had to wear leggings under her clothes because she was freezing. She, however was able to go to the middle of the plane just to warm up, while delivering drinks. I arrived and was absolutely chilled throughout my body. Within two days of arrival, I was sick. Congestion in chest and head, along with a fever, and severe cough. I came back on the 13th of Oct. and am still not totally recovered!Needless to say this ruined my vacation and I did not order my tickets at the last minute!!I feel justified in asking for a refund pf all ar partial money back since it was over $500 dollars.* ...less
