Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My Mother purchased a Transmission Assembly A.T. for a Oldsmoble Bravada on 12/08/2012 for me with a 1 year or 12K miles Parts and labor+$0.00. Total Parts cost was $495.00 with a $95.00 Warranty Cost. And she purchased the Bravada for me for $700.00 as is. I insured the vehicle and registered it. The transmission was delivered on or around 12/13/2012, I Had East Coast Auto Sales and Service. 659 Voluntown Road, Griswold CT 06351. Phone 860-376-5000
. They installed the transmission and it didn't work, they contacted SouthWest Engines at 866-319-1058 ext:2063 and spoke to Dale Jones and he told them that they had to replace the filter, they did and it still didn't work. I called Dale Jones today and he gave me a number to call 877-903-5278 I called and the guy said that he would e-mail Dale and tell him that the matter was for him to handle; I called him back and he told me that the transmission came with a tag on it saying that the filter had to be installed and if it wasn't it would void the warrantee. I called the Auto place where it was installed and they said that there was no tag on the transmission saying that anything had to be done before installation. The Auto place took the transmision out and there was no filter. I was led to believe that the transmission was ready for installation when it was purchased. So now I'm without a vehicle that works. I just don't know what to do I certainly can't afford to purchase a new transmission; and I need transportation to bring my Mother to her Dr. appt. and shopping ect. I also need it."

  • We are going through the same thing with a junk engine. They refuse to give us our money back in the amount of 1190.00. Don't know what to do.

  • It definitely sounds like from this situation that there was some information that was missing in order for the repair to be completed to your satisfaction. Because contacting the company by phone hasn’t gotten you a resolution, perhaps contacting them a certified letter with the information that you stated here could help you in this situation. Be sure to include the information that shop says that there was no notice or tag stating any such potential voided warranty information, because you likely would not have done something to void such a warranty if you knew about it. Putting this complaint in writing to the company may help you, as then maybe someone with more decision making power could take a look at your situation and potentially offer you a solution.
