Claimant says:
"I am filing a complaint against this franchise (Charles Spann INC.) because I was fired from this store unfairly among other issues going on in this store.My name is Nora Ventura I am a 44 yr. old mother & grandmother I did file for unemployment and because this company does not like to pay unemployment they chose to lie on my separation notice. I went in on Wednesday July 23, 2014 to work my schedule 3pm-1am. I went in to the office to clock in and my boss`s boss came in and he brought a second manager in her name is Tina.He confronted me and said that there was a lot of rumors about me going to apply for another job, so I told him "yes I did,there is nothing wrong with that", he then said that he also heard I was very unhappy and I told him yes and that he was aware of that he told me since I was so unhappy that he was letting me go so I asked him ,"so you are firing me because I went and applied somewhere else? His response was no "I am firing you because you are telling the crew that you are unhappy and its affecting their moral".I was fired on the 23rd and it is August the 8th and I had to go to the store several times asking for my separation notice and just got it today. I started reading the separation notice and on the notice it says as follows word for word,"Employee was called into the office by Monty Gulledge to discuss Nora telling everyone that she was quitting.Nora explained she was going to put her notice in soon.Monty accepted her notice on this day". First and foremost I did NOT go in on this day with intentions to quit, I never said I was just gonna quit I told Monty that I was gonna turn in my two week notice "IF", I got the job but I never turned in my notice on that day he was adiment that he was letting me go and they did not need me any longer he basically told me to leave . On this separation notice he is trying to make it seem as though I went in with intentions to quit that day. I also confronted my boss (Chris Morrison) that the separation notice was not correct and he knew very well that this was not the way it happened he responded in front of another manager (John Thomas ) "that is what I was told to write on there". also there are employees that have been with this company for over 22 years and have never gotten a raise the employees feel very unappreciated they feel that the General Manager is very rude to them and he disregards any of their personal every day needs.The store does not follow any proper procedures food safety book will go for days not getting done meaning no one checks the quality or temperature of the meat or fried products,their money policy is all over the place procedures are not being followed ,they are always out of supplies or product because again no one cares to make sure that these procedures are being followed.Employees have no benefits at all they don't even get evaluated for raises the years just pass and as long as no one makes a fuss all is well .These people have gotten away with this for too long and I believe it is time that someone said something on the employees behalf because wrong is wrong and right is right.   • I also want to say that there have been many friends to come and tell me that Chris the GM has told them that they cannot talk to me.This is ridiculous,I can understand if I went to the store & on their property but no one can tell another person who they can have as friends that is a bit extreme. So now he trying to keep my friends from me? That's just crazy!!!!
