Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I have purchased three products (call me stupid or easy mark) amounting to around $4000, which I am not able to afford easily. I bought a large air sanitizer first, because I have a respiratory ailment....Okay?...I guess. Next the fellow came back to replace a filter, which I thought a bit early, but ended up paying somewhere in the $100 area....Next, I was told of the water purifier for my drinking water ($1000 and change) and the laundry pure machine ($1000) to attach to my washer, which I'm afraid may be affecting the way in which the latter operates....Okay, now I'm getting the "Special" claim for purchasing the two right then....I don't know exactly what ails me, but I went for it. I am on my own well, which has always produced decent tasting water, but he did a short test which I should have watched more closely....said we had heavy metal content, but a very serious amount of arsenic...I have lived here since the mid-70's and am still drinking the water. His did taste better at the time I have to admit, but?? coming through this expensive machine, ends up tasting like someone dunked a dirty sponge in it. No one here will drink it and I've tried it on several visitors. The original seller came back to sell me a filter, and I told him I didn't want the machine..(I had also told him the day before he delivered it , simply because I was spending too much, but he said it was already in his car and insisted he install it for us to try it out.....I called to complain and he came and played with it, claiming that some smudge around something in the filter area was probably causing the water to taste bad.( If the smudge was filtered from my water, I would think it shouldn't affect what we drink, but what do I know?) I have tried four times to get someone over there to come for the machine and refund my $1125, but I guess they have no intention of doing either. I am going to be 74 in February, but am a far cry from the senility he probably thinks he's dealing with. My husband is no longer alive (1999) and I have an LD daughter living with me, who costs me the needs she is unable to afford with her part time job. I would be more than grateful if you could give me some help encouraging these people to do the right thing. I suppose I could threaten to return the other two items, but I am inside most of the time and would not want to have to take him to court.
